So…why “Dads and Dollars”?
You don’t have to look far on the web to find a lot of pages geared toward helping stay-at-home moms make some extra money. Some of them do quite well.
But what about the dads? What about parents – moms and dads – who have a 9-to-5 job? When I started this page, I envisioned it as a page for ideas for making money that would work for pretty much anyone, leaving the more time-consuming and/or less practical offers to the other sites.
Now, though, I’ve discovered the FIRE community, bunches of people who have become financially independent, and aspire to reach that point myself. Whether doing that is through the types of money-making offers I used to check out or not isn’t as much the point. More the point now is that, while I am still far from FIRE, I can’t concentrate on only making money; instead, I want to work on being content with what I have.
For me, learning to be content is proving to be a harder task than making extra money or becoming financially independent. But keep watching this space…hopefully that will start to change for me.
